Week 3 of August Break photo challenge, with Susannah Conway. It’s an informal challenge, and you can join us at any time during August.

Day 14: Vintage

On my walk yesterday, I came across this gleaming cherry red vintage Morris Minor pickup – I’ve never seen one before! I love the colour and the old-fashioned curvy shape. It reminds me a little of my PT Cruiser

Day 15: Dragon

My heart sank when I read this prompt – “here be no dragons” I thought.

Then I remembered a Welsh slate coaster, with a picture painted on it, that I probably bought when I was a teenager – “it’s bound to be a picture of a Welsh dragon” I thought.

But do you think I could find it? I fear it might have fallen victim to an exuberant round of decluttering.

Then, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a picture of Kwun Yum, Goddess of Mercy, which a friend gave to me in Hong Kong – and at her feet she has a dragon. 🐉

Day 16: Favourite Colour

Street art in Shoreditch, East London

I love all the colours under the sun – they are all equally beautiful.

Day 17: Daisies

Human beings are born solitary, but everywhere they are in chains – daisy chains – of interactivity. Social actions are makeshift forms, often courageous, sometimes ridiculous, always strange. And in a way, every social action is a negotiation, a compromise between ‘his,’ ‘her’ or ‘their’ wish and yours.
~ Andy Warhol

Day 19: Metal

rusty chains on the beach at West Itchenor, West Sussex

I am in awe (ore?) of metal, both for its strength and its beauty – from the shiny new glitter of gold to the oxidised patina of aged iron or copper.

Imagine what the world would be like if humankind hadn’t unlocked the amazing properties of these natural materials – just lying underground, waiting to be discovered!

Day 18: One Regret and Day 20: I Love

I decided these two prompts deserved their own post…
