Nine days ago, I set myself a challenge to take a photograph every day for a year.
I posted that challenge on my blog – then, all of a sudden, I found myself saying that I would also “post each day’s photograph on my blog, on the day I take it.” And write about it.
Whoa! Hold your horses for a second. Talk about moving the goal posts!!
As I mentioned in a previous blog post, I tend to be an “all or nothing” kind of girl – and if I say I’m going to do something, I do it. However, sometimes I take this too far, and I end up tying myself in a knot.
So let’s just sit down for a moment, and think about this.
On some days, the photos I take aren’t particularly interesting – they might be photos of my shoes, or my lunch – and I don’t really want to bore you by posting them on my blog.
This just isn’t that kind of blog.
Other days, I might take several photos that I want to share – and I don’t want to keep having to apologise that “I took this photo yesterday.”
This year, I want to be kinder to myself.
So here’s the deal.
I will continue to take a photograph every day for the next 356 days (as this is Day 9) – so I’m sticking to the original contract I made with myself.
I will post some of those photographs on my blog – with, or without commentary.
I may post more than one photograph from any one day.
I may also post some photographs that I took before this challenge started, if I feel they might be of interest, or help to illustrate a point I want to make.
So, basically, anything goes!
There. I don’t know about you, but I certainly feel much happier now that we’ve cleared that up. 🙂
