I’ve just signed up for Susannah Conway’s “The August Break”, a month-long photo challenge, posting photos on the blog instead of articles (although I might post the odd article anyway).
My attempts, in the past, to post photos daily have not gone very well – and I’m fairly certain that I’ll be posting nothing for days and then rushing to catch up. And I might be resorting to raiding my archives, rather than taking new photos.
But that’s OK. The most important thing is that I’m going to enjoy sharing some of my photographs – in fact, I’ve decided it’s something I want to do more of, even after August.
It’s been a very odd year so far – being diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in the spine in March, having an emergency operation to prevent my spine collapsing in May, recurring infections in June, radiotherapy in July, ongoing immunology treatment and the prospect of chemotherapy once things have settled down a bit.
So I think a month spent looking back over some of the photos I’ve taken over the past few months and years will be quite healing. I’m looking forward to it. 🙂
