Day 24: Three

“One for Sorrow, Two for Joy” – original artwork by Julia Barnickle

This is a painting I did a few weeks ago. As usual, when I started, I had no plan – then, suddenly, three magpies appeared. I haven’t done any painting for a good couple of weeks, because I’ve been feeling unwell again. To improve the symptoms and reduce any residual post-treatment swelling of the brain, I’m now back on the anti-inflammatory medication – which makes me hyper and keeps me awake at night, making endless to-do lists in my head! It’s a small price to pay though – I’m already feeling a lot better.

Prints of this painting are available on my Society6 online shop: Click here to buy!

Day 25: Peaceful

My peaceful place is a path by the River Thames in Kingston – but this year, for some reason, I haven’t been very often. Today we made a short trip there, and I realised how much I’ve missed it.

Day 27: Little

The older I get
the more I realise
how little I know.
But that’s OK.
There are more miracles
in heaven and earth
than one person
could ever hope to grasp.
And just knowing that
is enough.
